Every parent wants the best health insurance for their family. Every employer would like to offer excellent insurance coverage to their employees as a benefit. But how can the average person or employer do a health insurance comparison? They could sit down and go through the phone book and start calling all of the insurance companies for quotes. But how long would that take? And even if you could do it how would you know if you were comparing apples to apples. All quotes are not created equal.

Technology has made life a lot easier for us in many ways. What if there was a company that had YOUR best interest in mind. One that knew all about the insurance companies, what to look for and how they compare. One that would do your health insurance comparison for you. One that knew all about individual, family, short-term, student, dental, group, business, and vision insurance plans.

Well there is and your life just got a whole lot easier! We highly recommend eHealthInsurance. They have been in business since 1997. They are America’s number one source for your health insurance needs. They represent over 180 health insurance companies and over 10,000 plans! Do a health insurance comparison for over 180 companies and see how long it will take you. Over 1 million people have trusted eHealthInsurance to do their health insurance comparison for them. Shouldn’t you?

From their web site you can get quotes, compare plans and even apply right online. They also have personal expert advice, easy comparison tools, best selection and prices, and approval right online. Some jobs call for a pro, and health insurance comparison is one of them!

There is too much at stake. There are too many scam artists. Don’t be taken in by your local insurance sales person that only sells a few plans for an even smaller number of companies. Put the power of technology and the knowledge and experience of eHealthInsurance to work for you. Get the most for your health insurance dollars.

Take a look at the best way to do a health insurance comparison. You have nothing to lose and absolutely everything to gain. Aren’t the people that are counting on you worth it?

Here is where you can get started right now:

Health insurance can protect you when illness or injury prevents you from working or results in an expensive medical bill. Having coverage is very important for individual people and for families. That’s why getting turned down for health insurance can get be frustrating and frightening. You may begin to wonder what you are going to do. Often, we can’t pay the medical bills if no one is there to help us. Let’s look at some facts.

You’ve been turned down for health insurance.

Chances are that if you’ve been turned down for health insurance, it’s because you have a pre-existing health condition or you have an unhealthy lifestyle, including smoking, excessive drinking, or poor eating habits. Health insurers are out to make money. So, chances are that if you have a serious medical condition, you won’t find health insurance coverage easily.

Alternatives if you have been turned down for health insurance.

If you’re worried, don’t be. There is a way to get health insurance coverage even if you have been turned down before. You can access a “High Risk Pool” for health insurance.

“High Risk Pools”

Before you can be accepted into a “High Risk Pool” for health insurance, you have to meet the following conditions:

A person would have to be turned down by one or more health insurance companies and be able to show proof that they were turned down.

If a person has a health insurance plan, they must prove they are receiving a higher premium because of their illness

A person must be a resident of the state where they are seeking medical insurance. Some states offer reciprocity which means that if a person moves to another state that participates in reciprocity also, the benefits may transfer from one state to the next.

Most people who are eligible for Medicare or Medicaid will not be able to enter into the ‘pool’. Some states have become more lenient, however.

Some states do exclude certain medical conditions.

So being turned down for health insurance is a set back, but certainly not the end of the world. It will just mean some more work for you in securing a health insurance plan that you can afford and that will cover you until perhaps your situation changes.

Supplemental health insurance plans can help protect you in ways that you’re your main health insurance plan cannot. It may be important to add this type of coverage to your health insurance for pre-existing medical conditions or to cover prescription medication.

What are supplemental health insurance plans?

Supplemental health insurance is a plan that you purchase in addition to your regular health insurance. It helps to protect you in ways your current health insurance cannot. This can include prescription medication or extra coverage during times when you are unable to work. It not normally needed in the way regular health insurance is. It is merely an extra way to protect yourself in emergencies.

How much do supplemental health plans cost?

Supplemental health insurance can be affordable for people with group insurance plans, however it can be quite expensive for people with individual health insurance. It is up to you to decide whether or not the expense is worth it.

What do supplemental health plans cover?

Supplemental health insurance often covers the following areas:

covers an extended stay in a hospital

covers certain diseases

pays off bills in case you are unable to work for a few weeks

accidental death

How do I know if I need a supplemental health insurance plan?

If you are unsure whether or not supplemental insurance is right for you or your family, you should make a list of all the reasons you might want to consider it. If you can’t think of any, phone a provider and ask questions.

You should also ask the provider of your primary health insurance plan if a supplemental health insurance plan is right for you. But keep in mind that they are in the business of selling health insurance, so if they recommend it, ask why. Make sure that the reason or reasons that they give you make good financial sense.

Actually most people should not need supplemental health insurance plans, but it is better to know if you do before you would actually need it. Make sure that you know what your present health insurance plan covers and what your future needs may be. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!

The hardest part about choosing good health insurance is knowing what the important issues are and what questions to ask yourself and insurers. Let’s take a look at some to be sure that you get the best possible coverage at the lowest possible rate.

Questions to ask yourself when choosing health insurance

To determine the coverage you will need, ask yourself the following questions:

What do I need from my health care plan?

How long will I need this coverage?

Can I increase or decrease my coverage at any time?

Will all of my dependents be covered under the plan?

What is the most I can afford to pay per month?

What other alternative do I have to individual health insurance?

What benefits are offered through the plan?

Will my premiums increase?

Can coverage be terminated at any time?

Questions to ask Insurers when choosing health insurance

Sometimes it can be intimidating talking to professionals and it can be even more intimidating and frustrating if you think they are trying to sell you health insurance without all the facts. Here is a list of important questions to ask health insurers before choosing your health insurance.

What coverage is offered?

What coverage is not-offered?

What extra coverage can be added?

What about prescriptions?

Is there are network of approved medical care professionals?

Are there any penalties?

Can the plan be canceled?

Choosing health insurance is a very important job. As with anything in life you must have a good plan. When health insurance is needed it will be too late. You must have everything set up before disaster strikes. It is something that we do not like to think about, but you just never know what come happen to you or someone in yor family.

Health emergencies and accidents have ruined some people financially. Don’t put all of your plans for the future at risk.

Purchasing the right health insurance can be confusing. There are so many different types of coverage it can be difficult to purchase the right one. Here is a brief overview of different types of health insurance coverage to get you started.

HMO

HMO stands for Health Maintenance Organization and it is one of the most common forms of health insurance available today. Generally, cost is low with an HMO plan, however using an HMO plan can be confusing. It has many complicated use procedures.

FFS

An FFS plan is a Fee for Service plan. These plans are less common today, however, some health insurance companies still offer them. The benefit of this plan is your ability to choose your own physician or specialists. However, you will have to pay your own deductible and also costs are paid by you up front.

PPO

PPO stands for Preferred Provider Organization. A PPO uses a network and will offer you a list of physicians and hospitals you can access for service. You usually do not need a referral to see a specialist and you can see a doctor outside of the network, although it can cost more money. This plan is inappropriate for many people to purchase because it is more costly than other plans.

POS

POS stands for Point of Service Plan. A POS plan has a network, however it is usually more flexible when it comes to you selecting a family physician. This plan also concentrates more on preventative care than other plans. With this plan, you will have to choose a primary physician even if you rarely visit him or her and you will receive little reimbursement for visiting physicians outside of the network.

Before you purchase health insurance make sure that you know what you are paying for. Read the fine print and know about any other money that you will have to pay, such as deductables. Spend a lot of time on research before your purchase and it will pay off in benefits later!

Caring for your health and the health of your family can be costly. That’s why a good health insurance plan is always a good idea. You never know when a broken arm, an eye infection or something worse will happen. Having a health insurance plan can help to take the sting out of unexpected health problems. For now, check out the following information on what to look for when doing a health insurance comparison.

Over all cost

One of the first things you’ll want to look at when comparing health insurance plans is cost. It is important to stay within your budget and still get the services you need. There is no one price that is appropriate for all people. Look at the amount of money you spend on health services each year, including appointments, prescription medicines and other treatments. Base your evaluation of cost on this.

Amount of coverage

Not all plans will offer you the same amount of coverage. You need to be careful. If you need a plan mainly to cover your prescription medications, then you need a plan that covers a high percentage of that cost. Assess your needs and then evaluate the coverage offered by each health insurance plan you are considering.

Limitations

Some plans have limitations which may prevent you from obtaining coverage. This can include pre-existing medical conditions, family history, and addictions like smoking and alcoholism. You may need to apply to several health insurance plans before being accepted for coverage.

Prescription benefits

Prescription benefits are often the most important part of a health insurance plan. Many plans will not include prescription coverage and to add it to the existing coverage can be costly. Make sure you fully understand the prescription coverage of any plan you are comparing.

Care procedures

Some plans can restrict the medical care you receive. Some plans will require that you choose a physician that is a member of a network. Others will require that you pay a deductible before you receive care. Read the fine print on any plan you are considering.

Doing a health insurance plan comparison has never been easier than through the use of the abundance of information on the internet. But as with anything else you still have to do the work, know what to look for, and spend some time comparing the results. Health insurance can be a life saver for your family and your families future. Treat it accordingly.

Health is wealth. It is what you always hear in your health classes during your grade school days. Your teacher will tell you that you need to take care of your health for it will be your key in reaching your dreams in life later on. With a healthy mind and body, you can perform the assigned tasks to you efficiently. You will be able to come up with excellent ideas to further improve your lifestyle as well as your career when you are already working. Best of all, you will be able to enjoy your life after retirement if you can still accompany your children and grandchildren on a jogging on a Sunday morning.

But on what extent do you give importance to your health? Do you ever consider getting yourself a health insurance plan? Probably, with all the other important expenses you need to think about, you always forget to get a health insurance plan to cover your needs. Although you already shopped for some low-cost health insurance plan, you are still having a hard time finding it. You are always hindered by the high cost of health insurance premiums and other fees associated with it.

Is there any other alternative for a high quality health insurance plan for you?

Fortunately, there is. Furthermore, if you presently live in the state of Maryland, you will find that there is still hope for protecting your health as well as your life even if you are financially incapable of getting a health care plan.

And it is through the Maryland Health Insurance Plan, or MHIP. It was established by the Maryland General Assembly under the Health Insurance Safety Net Act of 2002. It is a state-administered health insurance program that is intended for Maryland residents who do not have sufficient access to health insurance. The program is administered by the Maryland Physician’s Care with the help of the Maryland state government through its public health care officials sitting as one of the board directors together with several consumer representatives.

If you will apply for the Maryland Health Insurance Plan, you will be given 4 plan options:

•    The EPO Network Plan;
•    The PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) Plan with deductibles worth $500;
• The PPO Plan with deductibles worth $1,000; and
• The HDP or the High Deductible Health Plan with combined medical pharmacy and medical deductible worth $2,500.

In order to be eligible to the Maryland Health Insurance Plan, you must satisfy the following requirements:

•    You must be a permanent Maryland resident;
•    You are not qualified to any group health insurance , COBRA, Medicaid, and other health insurance programs funded either by the state/federal government or by private entities;
• You are offered limited health insurance coverage and excluding certain health benefits, preferably pre-existing medical conditions; and
• You have been refused of an individual health insurance plan for some health reasons or possess pre-existing medical condition.

If you want to enroll with a Maryland Health Insurance Plan, all you need to do is to contact the Maryland state health department for assistance. They have staff directed for any inquiries about the state health program for uninsured and financially-incapable Maryland residents.

With Maryland Health Insurance Plan, you are assured of health insurance coverage despite financial difficulties that you are experiencing.

Commitment is an important value that each of us must have. It shows how much you are determined to perform a task assigned to you. This will also help you gain the trust of everybody around you. For instance, as a federal government official, you are committed to serve your countrymen within the best of your capability. You can show such commitment by providing your countrymen a high quality of public service. If they feel that you are really committed to serve the public, you will easily gain their trust and see that you are one of the good public servants in the government.

Even in your own simple ways, you can express your commitment to something. If you are a student, you have the commitment of fulfilling your parents’ dream of finishing high school with honors or leaving college with a bachelor’s degree. If you are an environmentalist, you have the commitment to protect and preserve Mother Nature and everything around you. If you are a teacher, you have the commitment to teach the children and pass them the knowledge that you have which they can use as they live their lives. Every individual has their own commitment, not only to themselves but also to the people around them.

Such commitment also binds different American health insurance carriers that provide the necessary health care plans for their consumers.

Although they have their own corporate structure, officials, health plans, and other health-related services, different American health insurance providers have that commitment to provide high quality health insurance plans to their clients. Just like the government, the health insurance industry is another form of public service to the American people. That is why there is that commitment to provide the best quality of health insurance coverage at the price within the reach of those who are really in need.

Along with their commitment, they have also a unified goal of:

Expanding the access of high-quality health insurance plans not just only to the elite population of the United States but also to common individuals who suffers from their health problems due to insufficient health care services.

Providing cost-effective health insurance plans to all Americans.

Assure the American’s financial security through various flexible health care plans, innovations in the industry, and continuous growth of health care options.

Aside from providing health insurance plans to Americans as part of their corporate mission, different American health insurance carriers also take part on different activities that concern the well-being of their fellow countrymen. They also are actively involved in research and development in the field of health and medicine as well as offer financial assistance in some privately-funded health programs for poor individuals and families. Such activities also show their commitment of public service in the field of health and medicine.

Although they are independent among each other in the health insurance market, different American health insurance carriers are binded by a single commitment—to provide that high quality of health care plans to the American people and ensuring that their health needs will be provided.

Serving their countrymen and their health interest—that is why different American health insurance carriers continue to be in the market.

Businessmen nowadays are very meticulous in getting the best in terms of sales, marketing and performance. But there are some things that businesses are greatly competing for. And one if these is being able to get the finest and most skilled employees to work for them.

Of course, any business owner would want to hire the most hardworking and the most reliable workers for their companies. Besides, employees are the main elements that make up a business. Without them, a company would never be that successful.

This is why companies make ways to lure and attract the best workers. Some business owners offer them benefits that could be in the form of high salary, great food allowance, transportation allowance and even health insurance plans.

Basically, a worker may choose to work with a company that offers more benefits that those that do not. That is why you should think about getting business health insurance plans for your employees. In this way, the staff and workers will know that the company really cares for them. They will get the best health care at the best price.

If you are a regular employee and have business health insurance plans, then you do not have to think about paying hospitalization bills or doctor’s fees. The insurance company will take care of it for you. Basically, health insurance plans are categorized into two main groups.

These are the indemnity health plans and the managed health insurance plans. Apart from the indemnity health plan, getting a managed care plan guarantees you will have less procedures and paperwork. This is because the hospitals and the doctors that you visit are the ones which are included in the health insurance company’s list. These are the only ones that you will be able to use.

For the indemnity health plan, you have more options and more choices of doctors and hospitals. However, the indemnity plans are, of course, more expensive than the managed health insurance plans. These are some of the business health insurance plans that the company may offer you. Each plan may also offer various types of services.

Most small businesses provide their workers with choices of health insurance plans. But some businesses have a fixed health plan for their workers. No matter what plan you choose, it is best that you pick the most appropriate health plan for your needs.

Each of us has his own medical needs and you are the only one who can assess which one would be the most suitable medical plan for you. Aside from that, the types of business health plans may vary from one company to another. Usually, company owners evaluate the factors that would determine which health plans will be the most appropriate for their workers.

The price range may vary and the types of coverage also differ. The more medical services offered, the higher the monthly payment. If you are not satisfied with your company’s business health plan, you can choose to have an individual or personal medical plan for you. However, this will be more work for you and you will be the one to decide the health insurance company as well as the type of health coverage you prefer.
